Mission Statement

ECHO Neighbourhood Centre -
Helping the Community

The Centre, People and Services

ECHO Neighbourhood Centre Inc. has been part of the hub of Bondi Junction since 1971. We started as the Eastside Community Help Organisation and in 1991 became incorporated as ECHO Bondi Junction Neighbourhood Centre Inc.

We are funded by Local, State and Federal Government to provide Neighbour Aid (Social Support) to frail aged, people with disabilities, and/or dementia, and their carers. Also a Settlement Grants Program for newly-arrived migrants and refugees to assist them to settle into the Australian culture. These key programs are supported by a range of activities for the people of Waverley local government area and surrounding local governments including:

Our Vision

Our vision is an inclusive and equitable community that values and respects all people. This is reflected in what we do and promotes the well being of people who may be disadvantaged by age, disability, income, culture, language or social isolation.

The People

ECHO is governed by a voluntary Management Committee who represents our clients, community services and local residents. It guides the organisation in pursuit of its vision. Our financial members are the backbone of the organisation. If you would like to become a financial member of ECHO, please complete the ECHO membership application form and return it with your annual payment to the Centre.

Staff and volunteers administer the activities of the Centre and provide the day-to-day service delivery. We are supported by regular training and networking opportunities to ensure we are up to date with current trends in the local community and beyond.
